OUR DOCTORS

Dr. Mark Dalton has been practicing Optometry in Allentown since 1998. In 1997, he received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of California at Berkeley, School of Optometry, graduating magna cum laude. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science from UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University in 1994.  Dr. Dalton enjoys practicing full scope optometry, including routine vision exams, contact lens fittings, as well as managing various eye infections, diabetic eye disease, cataracts and glaucoma. He also co-manages Lasik corrective eye surgery.  Dr. Dalton is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.  He is also a past president of the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society.  Dr. Dalton currently resides in Upper Macungie Township with his wife Kathy and their two children, Christopher and Mary.  In his spare time Dr. Dalton enjoys  being outdoors as much as possible.  While at home he enjoys reading, playing and listening to music, and relaxing with his family.

Dr. Tara Kays received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Philadelphia in 2014 where she graduated with high honors. During her clinical rotations, she held internship positions at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Erie, PA and in both the Primary Care Clinic and the Pediatric Care Clinic at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. Dr. Kays practices full scope optometry including routine vision exams, specialty and routine contact lens fittings, and pediatric eye exams, as well as the management of ocular conditions such as diabetic eye disease, cataracts and glaucoma. Prior to attending optometry school, she attended Messiah College in Grantham, PA where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and is president of the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her church, hiking, and spending time with family.  Dr. Kays and her husband, Dave, reside in Coopersburg.

Dr. Brian Godard received his bachelor's degree in biology from Clark University in Worcester, MA, where he was on the Men's Rowing team for four years. He received his doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. He is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.  During Dr. Godard's training, he received Clinical Honors at South Boston Community Health Center and at Sewell's Point Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. His well-rounded clinical experience also includes internships the Veteran's Affairs hospital in White River Junction, Vermont, and a private practice in Ridgefield, CT. Upon receiving his doctorate degree he practiced for nine years in Hartford and West Hartford, CT at multiple Harvey and Lewis Opticians locations.  Dr. Godard is from Southington, CT. He moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2018 with his wife and two young children. When not providing high quality eye care, he enjoys bike riding, spending time with family, and walking the family's adopted dog, Bailey.

Dr. Megan Smith-Godard was born in Lehighton, PA.  She attended college at Wilkes University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree with a Biology major and a Chemistry minor.  She received her Doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.  She is a current member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.  Dr. Smith Godard's clinical training includes internships at Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut, the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT and Dimock Community Health Center in Boston, MA.  Upon receiving her doctorate degree she practiced for nine years in Bristol, CT at a private practice.  She moved to the Lehigh Valley in 2018 with her husband, two young children and dog.  When not providing high quality eye care, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and traveling
